Design Your Year: Intentional Goal Setting for 2025
Set goals that don’t just happen: make them intentional and aligned with your vision!
Welcome to Radhika’s Newsletter “Intent”. This is your tri-weekly guide to purposeful living, wealth-building, and personal growth.
Happy Tuesday! I’m so excited to share this edition of Intent. Today’s topic is all about Goal Setting. We’re diving deep into why this matters and how it can transform your approach to work, money, health, etc.
As always, I’ve got some exciting updates, personal stories, and a chance for you to learn, reflect, and take action. Let’s get into it!
What I’m Sipping On This Month
This month, I’m sipping on Adeni Chai which is a perfect blend of strong black tea, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and evaporated milk, creating a rich, aromatic, and sweet spiced tea traditionally from Yemen, known for its bold flavor and creamy texture. Have you tried it? Let me know your favorite teas—I’d love to hear!
Design Your Year: Intentional Goal Setting for 2025
If you know me personally, you already know that New Year's is my absolute favorite holiday. There’s something about this time of year that fills me with excitement and possibility. Here’s why:
It’s the ONE holiday that every single person in the world celebrates together.
It’s a time for new beginnings, to start fresh, and create something new.
And, most importantly, it’s an opportunity to design the life we want to live.
So, with that, I say: Welcome to 2025! 🥳 🙌 😁
January is the perfect time to look ahead and start crafting the life you want to live in this exciting new year. But before you dive into goal-setting, it’s important to reflect on the past year and everything you’ve learned. As we discussed in December, reflection sets the foundation for intentional growth. If you missed that issue, you can catch up here.
Now, let’s look ahead and design your year. I’m excited to guide you through the exact steps I take to set intentional goals and create a life of purpose.
1. Designing Your Vision for 2025 (and Beyond)
Before we dive into goal-setting, take a moment to think about the life you want to create. Ask yourself:
What is the vision for the life I want?
What kind of legacy do I want to leave?
How do I want to feel each day?
What brings me joy?
Having a clear vision gives you direction and purpose as you set your goals. It allows you to align everything you do in 2025 with the bigger picture of who you’re becoming. This is your guiding light: let it influence how you set goals and measure progress.
2. Set Goals in 8 Key Categories
Once you’ve defined your vision, it’s time to translate that vision into actionable goals. I recommend setting goals in 8 key categories to ensure you're addressing all aspects of your life.
Start by ranking yourself from 1-10 in each of these categories and create your very first wheel of life (click here to check out a interactive website).
Business & Career
Family & Friends
Relationships
Personal Development
Finance
Recreation
Spiritual
Health & Fitness
This exercise helps you see where you’re currently at and which areas might need more focus. Once you’ve ranked yourself, it’s time to dream big about where you want to be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years. The more specific you get, the clearer your path becomes.
Category | 1 Year | 5 Years | 10 Years | 20 Years |

3. Break Your Goals Down: The Power of Smaller Milestones
Big goals can be overwhelming. That’s why it’s important to break them down into smaller, actionable milestones. This will make your goals feel more achievable and keep you focused.
Start by breaking your 1-year goals into 4 quarters (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December). Then, break each quarter down further into monthly milestones. Ask yourself:
What is one action I can take this month to get closer to this goal?
How will I measure my progress?
For example:
1-Year Goal: Launch my online business.
Quarter 1 Goal: Finalize business plan and research.
Monthly Goal: Complete market research and identify target customers.
Then lastly:
What is one action I can take today to get close to this goal?
Think about it like climbing a mountain. Every small step gets you closer to the top.
4. Set Daily Milestones & Affirmations
Consider creating daily affirmations that remind you of your intentions and keep you on track. Write them on sticky notes for your mirror or keep them on your phone as a daily reminder.
Here are some prompts for you to consider:
“Things I need to remind myself…”
“My affirmations…”
“I’m grateful for…”
Examples:
“I am a high achiever, and I am capable of accomplishing my goals.”
“Every small step today moves me closer to my vision.”
5. Accountability: The Key to Success
One of the most effective ways to achieve your goals is through accountability. When you share your goals with someone you trust, whether a mentor, a partner, or a community like this one, you increase your chances of following through. Accountability keeps you on track and offers valuable support along the way.
This year, I’m committed to sharing my goals with you and getting more intentional about accountability. For example, one of my big goals is to grow our Intent community to 5,000 members and to give a keynote speech at a university or high school graduation.
If you’re ready to share your goals, feel free to reply to this email with one of your big goals for 2025. I’d love to hear what you're aiming for and be there to cheer you on as you go after it!
